While heading abroad for a wedding recently I was stuck with that same old conundrum; what bag to pack for everyday use.
When you fly its easy, you have a large suitcase (usually) and an even larger carry on bag – which fits everything you forgot to add in your suitcase! However, when you hit the tarmac in a foreign country and spend all day lazing by a pool – or, in my case looking after a toddler – you want a bag that you can carry all your essentials in without being big enough to block the sun.
That’s why I was so impressed with Beara Beara. This brand new line of luxury leather accessories are perfect for everyday use while still giving off a stylish vibe. Their woven leather ‘Bambina’ backpacks, £72, (which are still heavily on trend for SS15) are great for heading on a day trip or act as a bottomless pit when heading to the beach, while still being chic enough to mould to any outfit. I particularly love their off-duty Ibizan style bucket bags which come in an array of bright summer hues including turquoise and fuchsia with handwoven elements.
The brand also houses an assortment of saddle, satchel and weekend bags – perfect for work and weekend retreats.

Having recently celebrated 40 years in the industry, Elie Tahari are cementing their fashion status by launching their very first international shop-in-shop at the fourth floor Fashion Lab in Harrods, Knightsbridge.
With a range of gorgeous wearable pieces – at accessible price points – this Israeli-American born luxury brand offers everything from casual daywear to decadent evening dresses and more.
Their ‘Apre-Active’ Sports collection (another new launch) is actually exclusive to Harrods in the UK and showcases a range of striking yet edgy pieces, while the lust-worthy Spring/Summer 2015 campaign has been shot by renowned photographer Steven Klein and features the ever glamorous supermodel Hilary Rhoda.
With so much on offer its surely only a matter of time before Tahari becomes the go-to label for all occasions.
Moving on from the dark liners and berry palettes of winter, you can now pick up an assortment of bright shades to suit all skin tones for your spring/summer 2015 make up bag.
Starting with your base skin, make sure you cover up after your daily cleansing routine with Clarins brand new UV Plus Anti-Pollution Day Screen (SPF50), £32 (30ml), which not only protects against UV rays but also against city pollution. Plus the ultra fine texture is great when adding under your daily foundation.
However, if it’s foundation you’re after then why not try Clinique’s new Beyond Perfecting liquid foundation and concealer, (£25). Completely lightweight, this 2-in-1 natural matte offers full coverage for a natural finish whilst providing daily moisture. Available in 21 shades the dual action coverage offers 12 hour staying power with an easy to use magic wand applicator.
For me though it’s about the lips. Versace, Bora Aksu and Roland Mouret (amongst others) all showcased an assortment of bright hues on their models with a range from candy floss to cerise, pink was a hugely popular choice – so why not head to your nearest beauty counter to pick up a brand new shade. My favourites come in the form of Bobbi Brown’s Hot Pink Art Sticks, £19.50 each, (part of the new Kate Upton Hot Colletion collab) and Clarins Instant Light Lip Balm Perfector (in Rose 01, £18). The Balm comes in six shades to help illuminate lips while adding extracts of nourishing mango and Shea alongside vitamin E, which locks colour in and keeps lips hydrated all day long.
Lastly for spring/summer 2015 pastel and nude nails ruled the runways. You can bag a catwalk style for a fraction of the price from a selection of new season lacquers from Nails Inc, Essie, OPI and Ciate. I’m loving OPIs new Hawaii Collection which cover a spectrum of shades – including That’s Hula-rious (£11.95) above…
Synonymous with ancient Rome and Greek styling, the gladiator sandal always reappears every season with a brand new stride. However, for spring/summer 2015 this on-trend sole has been re-hashed in the form of the caged flat gladiator sandal with T-bar accents, in an assortment of fun colour ways.
I’ve seen street stylings in tan and black, worn with a loose cami and ripped jeans, which look fab right now during this transeasonal weather, but for high summer I’d switch it up and choose a fun pastel hue and team with a printed skater dress or mix denim shorts and a baggy tee for a real festival vibe.
Forget 1990s low-slung jogging bottoms and the crystal-embellished terry towelling styles that followed suit in the noughties (adorned by the likes of Britney Spears) because for spring/summer 2015 designers have turned to more sleeker, tapered designs.
If you’re looking to emulate this sport luxe look (as seen at Topshop Unique, Lulu & Co, Akris and Preen) for less, but are not sure how, then why not start by opting for these stylish versions from some of our fav high street stores.
Available right now, this range of geo-to-grid print adaptions come in an array of colours and versions to suit all shapes and sizes. Wear dressed up with strappy heels and a skimpy vest (add lashings of jewellery for a real boho vibe) or dressed down during the current transitional weather with some plain pastel plimsols, a knitted sweat and a leather biker jacket.

“Fryday” T-Shirt By Adolescent Clothing £18
High Waist Ankle Skinny Jeans By Current Elliot £225
NIKE Trainers £76
Metallic Leather Mini-Skirt By Marc Jacobs £255
Flat Ankle Cuff Sandals By Chloe £350
Joining in and thinking outside the box I’ll be keeping my post New Year’s diet right on track by rocking this fab “Fryday” T-shirt from Adolescent Clothing instead of traditional fish ‘n’ chips for dinner on Good Friday; teaming the look with a pair of Current/Elliot skinny ripped jeans and colourful kicks from Nike. However, if the weather does adhere to spring-like temperatures with the sun shining through I can always add a metallic mini skirt (courtesy of Marc Jacobs) and a pair of strappy flats by Chloe for a glam spin on summer.
But you have to be quick as Adolescent’s super-cool logo tees and jumpers are flying out fast due to their limited availability and won’t be around for much longer.

So, firstly immense apologies for my totoal lack of blogs in the past few months. If any of you follow me on social media you will of course know the reason for this was he birth of our beautiful bouncing baby boy, Leo Alexander Lavey, in January! As Mummy and baby are doing well it seems (light) work has kind-of resumed but incase you missed it here are some work highlights which I’ve notched up in-between that include a special guest edit in Mother & Baby magazine and styling the ever glamorous Kara Tointon for the BAFTA awards.
I have to dash now (have a baby calling!), however please stay tuned as I have some very exciting posts coming up…
