NTA Awards review: who I styled

View all the celebrities at the National Television Awards

Now, it’s no shock to friends that know me, but to my new-found readers it may surprise you to learn that outside of my daily freelance work at The Daily Telegraph and my blog, I also style celebrities. I have been doing this for years, so therefore it was a great to see the delightful Tess Daly at last night’s National Television Awards at the o2 arena sporting the gorgeous blush-coloured Alberta Ferretti chiffon dress I had chosen for her for the occasion; which she paired with some fabulous Lara Bohinc jewellery she already owns and a fab pair of Paco Gil heels.

Nude is set to be a huge trend again this year and apart from Tess rocking this beautifully feminine shade, actress Katherine Kelly also sported a floor length gown with a large key-hole style section cut out from the back.

Davina McCall, who missed out on the Entertainment Presenter award to Ant and Dec, decided to play safe and opt for this years Oscar colour – emerald-green – however, the slashed lycra effect was more Saturday night out in Essex than Saturday night performance show. Talking of Essex, The Only Way Is Essex, had an abundance of their cast at the awards, Amy Childs and Mark Wright took time out to speak with journalist Lucy Cave behind the scenes for ITV2’s spin-off programme, and made me howl with laughter at Pat’s sausage dinner.

Shades that other celebs adorned for the red carpet were mainly in black hues, such as singer/celebrity judge Alesha Dixon, whose floor-legth black gown with lace back was so demure, until she turned around to reveal a slash at the front almost to her naval. I have met Alesha, who is LOVELY,  lots of times at Strictly Come Dancing, and although she never usually looks out-of-place behind that judging desk, this was slightly too much for me unfortunately. Other celebs to adorn black consisted of the Cheryl Cole, who kept it simple yet classy, Hannah Tointon (HollyOaks) – equally the same, Heidi Range (Sugarbabes), and a pregnant and newly engaged Emma Bunton,  who looked the epitome of happy in her knee-length lace LBD.

One other celeb who I have yet to see pictures of is the lovely Jessica Moor. She may be known for being DIY expert Nick Knowles’ girlfriend. but in her own right is now making a name for herself. This sweet individual called me up for a selection of bags to match her Lindka Cierach navy sequined dress: because of the style and colour, we decided the Milardy Swarovski clutch would be perfect to match this almost 1920 flapper style dress. I cannot wait to see the results…
