Tess Daly wins Rodial BEAUTIFUL Award

Famed for her fabulous presenting skills in Strictly Come Dancing, it was no shock when Tess Daly launched her ‘Daly’ beauty brand back in 2009: she already had the Californian glow, and we – as a nation of fake tanners – were happy to try to re-produce her golden sun-kissed look, desperately wanting a piece of her beauty ritual. So, as the collaboration hit Marks & Spencer shelves the make-up brand skyrocketed in sales, thus cementing Tess’ latest achievement in winning ‘Best New Make-up & Perfume Brand’ from the industry’s prestigious Rodial BEAUTIFUL Awards.

Now in its 2nd year you may be mistaken for thinking that this is an easy accomplishment to win, however, with a judging panel that would put Simon Cowell to shame (it’s made up of the industry’s toughest, fabulous, and most acid tongued make-up artists, fashion designers, journalists and jewellery designers) this was no mean feat to win. Tess was up against some of the industry’s toughest’s new collections which included Topshop’s Make-up brand, Nicola Roberts for her Dainty Doll range and Mary Greenwell’s PLUM collection – I’d say she came out trumps.

Held at the infamous Sanderson Hotel, other worthy winners also included model-of-the-moment, Amber Le Bon for ‘Freshest New Face’, and veteran fashion designer Sadie Frost for ‘Classic Glamour’. Judges included Vogue’s make-up artist de jour Charlotte Tilbury, fashion designer Julien Macdonald and interior designer Kelly Hoppen amongst others.
