New York Fashion Week: The Heart Truth’s Red Dress Collection

Just as we are getting to grips with the spring/summer trends that graced the runways back in September, A/W 11 is upon us and a new round of international catwalk shows is ready to commence.

New York Fashion Week kicked off last night with a star-studded charity catwalk show for The Heart Truth, an American campaign to raise awareness for women with heart disease.  In 2002 the red dress became the iconic symbol for the campaign and every year since, famous women have clamoured to be part of the event and support such a worthy cause.

A host of A-listers strutted down the catwalk at the Lincoln Center last night, all impeccably dressed in sumptuous red gowns.  Dita Von Teese stole the show in a figure hugging Zac Posen gown, which emphasised her tiny waist and hourglass figure.

Other celebrities at the show included American actress Denise Richardson, singer Eve and TV star Audrina Patridge, all dressed head to toe in beautiful scarlet creations.

And, doing it for us Brits were TV presenter, Cat Deeley in ruby Alberta Ferretti and singer Natasha Bedingfield, in a plunging Nicole Miller gown.

As the city prepares for its biggest media event of the year, journalists, buyers and celebrities gear up for a whirlwind week of presentations, shows and glamorous parties.

But New York Fashion Weeks is not purely the domain of top editors and A-listers, gone are the days when you had to wait to find out about the latest shows and trends.

Now, you can stream many of the shows live to your laptop, so you won’t miss any of the action going on across the Atlantic.  And most importantly, you’ll have the best seat in the house!
