Sister of music producer Mark Ronson and DJ Sam Ronson, Charlotte is fast securing herself as one of the must-see designers at New York Fashion Week. This season, she stayed true her laid back west-coast roots with a casual collection centred around Fair Isle knits, floaty dresses and grungy biker jackets.
There were military influences double-breasted khaki jackets, these were teamed with cute printed dresses, chunky ankle boots and olive green beanies. There was also a touch of Seventies inspiration in the loosely flared trousers and suede fringed bags which were casually slung over the models’ shoulders.
Almost every look was paired with holey, laddered tights, sometimes dressed up with a plum floral dress or dressed down with a mustard cardigan that wouldn’t look out of place on your Grandad.
Overall, the collection was understated and androgynous, and as Ronson stated backstage before the show, ‘feminine, but not too feminine’.
Celebrities at the show included reality TV star Kim Kardashian and American actress LaLa Vazquez.
