Rebecca Taylor’s Autumn/Winter 11 collection had a girly, feminine feel, she showed a range of luxe, wearable pieces which could easily slot into any fashionista’s wardrobe. Key grey pieces were punctuated with magenta trousers and skirts, electric blue jackets and plenty of sparkle.
Taylor took the flower print from her S/S 11 collection and re-used it in different colour ways on flirty dresses, sheer trousers and blouses. She also used patchwork to combine fabrics of different prints in a collage effect. This rarely works, but due to the careful combinations of colour and embellishment, the patchwork pieces fit seamlessly with the rest of the collection.
There were frilled ra-ra dresses in sheer lace prints and beautiful dropped-waist maxi dresses with sheer pleated skirts. Finally, Taylor ticked all the boxes by adding statement shearling outerwear pieces and pretty puff-sleeved cable knits into the mix.
