London Fashion Week: Ashley Isham

Unfortunately the only thing that people were talking about as they left the Ashley Isham autumn/winter 2011 show last night was that one of the models fell over not once, but twice during the show. The first instance came as she took to the catwalk just after half way through the show – she instantly looked pained and stressed, but then stumbled again in the finale.

However, at this show there was a stellar front row. Kimberley Walsh and Paloma Faith both rocked up for an oriental themed production, where Isham’s models paraded down the catwalk in a mix of jade green and vibrant pink hues, electric blue, metallic silver, black, nude and white. The dresses, some Oscar worthy potentially,  started off with quite soft draped tailoring and lead up to darker metallics with black lace overtones towards the end.

The Japanese theme continued the whole way through with the accessories, as all models adorned some kind of Mui Fei hair pieces, bejeweled and floral to match their dresses. These started small, such as one flower, but then by the end had moved into a veil-inspired piece to match a similar wedding gown style dress.

Interesting and different; this oriental garden party was eye-catching and inspiring for next season…
