I can’t even begin to list the A-list celebs in attendance at yesterday’s House of Holland show – oh, alright then. Here goes; Melanie Blatt, Jo Wood, Alexa Chung, Jamie Winston, Pixie Geldof, Nicola Roberts, Marina from Marina and the Diamonds, some T4 young yuppie ex-sloane looking presenter guy (Nick Grimshaw I think), and Gok’ Wan’s arch fashion-nemisis (and stylish young daughter-in-tow) Britt something-something, from Gok’s Fashion Fix
So, with celebs bums parked in seats the show began.
Henry Holland is infamous for his slogan Tee’s – which shot him to fame, and his bold colour schemes, and this season he once again did not disappoint. Apart from the minimal mad men style references – which gave the nod to some of the 60s dresses and herringbone over-checks and sexed-up Harris tweeds, there was an abundance of dresses, skirts, twin sets and patchwork pattern playsuits – which was then replicated in prom style dresses, scarfs, jumpsuits and tights – and an array of accessories, which included oversized pearl hoop earrings, tweed shopper totes and stripy hold-up socks. Colours incorporated were burnt orange, shocking pink and oatmeal.
The highlight however, came when a model trounced down the runway in a canary yellow tank top and bingo ball chiffon jumpsuit. Pure genius.
Quirky and playful, but also accessible and fun. HOH had it all.
