Jonathan Saunders autumn/winter 2011 collection at London Fashion Week

It’s being hailed as the show of the week, and Twitter-ites went mental when the lights went down yesterday evening as Jonathan Saunders launched his aututmn/winter 2011 collection.

So what was the big deal? Well according to Vogue’s Harriet Quick “there is this new baroque minimalism that started with Prada’s spring/summer 2011-12 and I think lots of designers are taking it up. Jonathan did it brilliantly – I thought his collection showed a new confidence and maturity. It really was beautiful.”

The collection, as mentioned, was a beautiful display of jewel and summer block tones, mixed in with maroon reds and stark blacks. Pencil skirts were also a big trend with hemlines coming just below the knee and opulent silk shirts in emerald-green and earth brown also stood out.
