Consuelo Castiglioni put together a fun and fanatical show on prints this morning for Marni’s autumn/winter 2011/12 show.
Apart from an octagonal print which was replicated over and over in a grid style pattern, there was star, geometric, lines, triangles and diamond shapes; all printed in different colours and for different styles.
At the beginning of the show there was a nod to the 1950s showing matching skirt suits and jackets with fur collar trims, and this continued throughout the collection with lady-like silhouette’s, tunics, cashmere jumpers and vintage-inspired handbags. Accessories also showed bold jewellery, skinny belts and leather gloves with either fur trims, or different coloured wool ruched on top.
For the final pieces at the end Castiglioni sent out a selection of black separates and lots of draping. Keeping it light-hearted with the pop colour palette in pinks, yellows, blues and greens.
After seeing this collection, Marni will definitely be a must-have for all next season…
