As the platform for emerging fashion talent Fashion Fringe has always been at the forefront of every fashion editor’s lists as ‘the competition to watch’, so it comes as no surprise as FF reaches its 8th year in the business that they have partnered up with Very.co.uk as their official E-tail sponsor.
Very.co.uk have always launched a platform for talented designers, and celebrities who launched their very own collections. Among the chosen few who adorn Very’s online pages range from the fabulous Fearne Cotton, Holly Willoughby, Pop by PPQ to Olivia Rubin (who was a Semi-Finalist of Fashion Fringe in 2007 and 2008). FF are also looking to reach a new audience who are in line with the brand’s mission to make style accessible to all – and through supporting FF, Very.co.uk customers will be able to access and enjoy the exciting world of new generation designers too.
Fashion expert Sir Colin DcDowell, who launched FF back in 2004, stated that “Fashion Fringe lives by sponsorship and we are thrilled to welcome as new Official E-tail Sponsor Very.co.uk, a young and thrusting company that shares many of our beliefs. Their commitment to mentoring and nurturing designers and what we are doing is very exciting!”
But the fun doesn’t stop there are FF have also recruited a new panel of judges that include supermodel Claudia Schiffer and fashion designer, Roland Mouret. With such huge names being connected with this event it is sure to be a masterclass of talent this year; bearing in mind that FF has already spurned such designers as Basso & Brooke, Erdem et al.
The FF competition is open until May 4, 2011 with a shortlist of designers being announced thereafter: these designers will then go on to showcase their first collection in London, for Spring/Summer 2012, in September.
