It seems over the past few months everyone’s been collaborating; Mulberry for Target, Daisy Lowe for Peacocks, Katy Perry for ghd and now, MA students at the London College of Fashion are about to embark on an exclusive collection with hight street retailer New look.
Famed for working with the hottest talents around such as Giles Deacon, Lily Allen and Taylor Momsen (as the face of NL last season) New look have wasted no time jumping in and rearing new talent from one of the hottest fashion college’s around.
Launching in selected stores nationwide, and online in mid May, the London College of Fashion Master’s Collection comprises of six styles which were designed by four MA students.
Back last year the MA students were all set a task to design must-have shoes for New Look’s SS11 collection to be sold throughout the country, and after a rigorous fashion panel judged them – which included British womenswear designer Giles Deacon, and footwear designer Jonathan Kelsey – they whittled it down to just four people. The overall winner was Chang Seok (Ralf) Ko, who produced three of the winning designs with runners-up Ruth Jones, Adriana Iurascu and Kim Kwang all producing one design each. The six-part collection includes flat sandals, high open toe mules, and strappy sandals.
So, make sure you have your best foot forward in time to grab one of these fabulous designer pairs next month…
