So, as a blogger I feel sooooo bad that I haven’t actually blogged for over a week due to flights, an influx of work, a poorly husband and more: I can literally feel eyes staring in the back of my head for this so apologies! However, what a great week in fashion we’ve actually had…
First up was the Investec Derby Festival in Epsom. The sun was shining and the block colour of the day (and spring/summer season) was enforced by HRH Queen Elizabeth II herself, who arrived wearing a fuchsia pink dress with matching jacket and hat. Thousands poured over the downs to celebrate the Queen’s arrival, and to place bets on the days races. Style was chic, confident and above all individual. See my video report below for Investec and WhatBestToWear.com on Telegraph.co.uk/fashion or click below!
Then came the ever-glamourous Glamour Awards 2011. Looking REEM to say the least was a line up of celeb beauties such as Tess Daly in what looks to be an ah-mazing blush Halston pleat gown, accessorizing with a Yuki Mitsuyasu cuff and designer necklace from EC One; Fearne Cotton in a glowing yellow satin Miu Miu shift dress – who continued her MM theme this week with their S/S ’11 denim and ostrich leather bag (see below) – and Jessica Alba in a fabulous colour block maxi by DVF, and Paloma Faith looking as quirky as ever in a kimono see-through inspired gown.
Unfortunately Kirsty Gallacher’s Kermit the Frog maxi was slightly too much, and fabulous singer Alexandra Burke slightly super-sized her D&G billowing gown, making it hard to see her svelte frame.
Then at the weekend Lily Allen finally married her beau Sam Cooper, announcing a double whammy that she was also pregnant again. Wedding her builder boyfriend in a vintage gown at a picturesque church in the Cotswolds village of Cranham, she looked thrilled and ecstatic.
The couple are thought to be mini-mooning at Glastonbury Festival next weekend with family and friends, in a luxury tepee. Congrats Lil!
And so, from nuptials to hen party’s, Croydon-born supermodel Kate Moss headed to the Isle of Wight Festival also last weekend with an entourage of friends. Moss started as she meant to go on flying in 300 bottles of bubbly for the first night, so that her and best bud Davina Taylor could get stuck into it with pals, who also included Sadie Frost. However, it seems that Kate may not be able to handle her drink as much these days as a double’ was said to have been sent in by Mossy to cover her tracks on the second day, and divert press attention… That must have been one hangover from hell.
Last, but not least, was The Duchess of Cambridge Kate Middleton, who dazzled once again in a blush sequined floor length gown by Jenny Packham last week, for the Absolute Return for Kids Gala Dinner. Showing off her trimmed bronzed figure she wowed the crowds once again. Then this week Kate yet again stole the show when she stepped out in Royal Cambridge blues, with a shift dress, matching fascinator and recycled coat she had worn to a friend’s wedding previously.
What a week in fashion…
