2011: Vogue Fashion’s Night Out

Tonight all across the globe fashion stores are opening their shelves, racks and changing rooms to us dedicated purchasers to help celebrate Vogue’s fantastic event; Fashion’s Night Out.

Vogue Fashion's Night OutThose not aware of the concept should be prepared to feel elated. Stores are staying open late, serving a selection of canapés (and something bubbly) and providing guests with an array of music and art exhibitions in-house to help boost sales and promote global awareness for our country’s economy.

Now in its third year, Fashion’s Night Out started again on Tuesday 6 September 2011 in Russia, following on with Spain (7 September) and is dropping in on the UK tonight, alongside Australia, Brazil (Sao Paulo), France, Germany, Italy, Korea, Mexico, Portugal’s FNO who are also hosting. Brazil are also due to hold another event on 9 September in Rio; Taiwan and India’s event will take place on the 10th, with China on the 11th, concluding in Greece and Turkey on 15 September.

Most stores participating will be held in and around central London, with brands such as Links of London on Brook Street, W1 (whom are revealing Vogue’s top 5 must-have designs from their friendship bracelet collection and will also show a live art performance in store), Anya Hindmarch, Mulberry, All Saints, John Smedley, ROHMIR and Dune amongst others, as well as beauty brands like Toni&Guy – whom are offering up to 20% off in Regent Street – and Vita Liberata, who are teaming up with Melissa Odabash to offer a pop up beach experience at their new Walton Street boutique.

Vogue’s UK editor Alexandra Shulman noted that: “We’re delighted to draw people’s attention to the fact that fashion and retail are a hugely important and enjoyable part of the country’s economy – last year we had 270 stores in central London participating, while shoppers embraced the mood in what felt like one large party.” Adding: “We’re looking forward to an even bigger and brighter night this year.”

Also lending a hand are designers such as Jonathan Saunders, Paul Smith and Lulu Guinness who have all designed limited edition pieces to sell on the event and afterwards. Fashion and art are also combining at Salvatore Ferragamo where a photographic exhibition by Carola Syz will be shown at their Bond Street store.

So for a fun-filled evening check out Vogue’s website below and head down to your favourite store to purchase some items with discount, and a cheeky glass of champagne…
