Dancing On Ice celeb Chesney Hawkes quits show

The series hasn’t even begun (well on TV anyway) and already one of the high-profile celebs that was meant to be skating with Canadian professional Jodeyne Higgins has quite the show. However, The One and Only singer Chesney Hawkes has not fled in a hissy fit, but instead opted to sadly leave due to a broken leg which he sustained on Monday at Shepperton Studios in Surrey.

40-year-old Hawkes was apparently said to have tumbled in a training accident and has been left devastated with a fractured fibula whilst ITV bosses drafted in X Factor star Chico as his replacement.

Hawkes has commented stating that: “I am gutted. I was having a brilliant time and couldn’t wait to finally be skating live on TV.”

Whilst Hawkes is out of the picture X-Factor annoyance Chico noted that: “I was very sad for Chesney but destiny opens doors and what is written for you must pass.” He is also to have claimed that he will not be at all upset of embarrassing himself on the show… Nothing new there then.

Dancing On Ice starts on ITV1 on Sunday evening.
