Golden Globe Awards 2012: David Furnish attacks Madonna

When award season arrives celebrities are used to either being praised for their portrayals or slated for their bad taste in clothes – usually from critics – however, this time around the Queen of pop Madonna was attacked via a social networking site and celebrity David Furnish.

Madge – as she is known in the industry – has always been an eccentric type dating the bad guys, divorcing the nice guys and ending up  in, it seems now, a great place as she worked her way from musician to director for her film debut W.E. But it seems that yesterday evening at the 69th annual Golden Globe awards, which were held at the Beverly Hilton hotel in Los Angeles, that Madge came under fire from fellow celeb, David Furnish. As she collected her award Sir Elton John’s face turned sour looking on, as they had both been up for Best Original Song during the awards, and moments later Furnish took to social networking site Facebook noting that the singer seemed ’embarrassing’ and ‘desperate’.

Furnish commented: ‘Madonna. Best song???? F**k off!!!’, adding: ‘Madonna winning Best Original Song truly shows how these awards have nothing to do with merit. Her acceptance speech was embarrassing in its narcissism. And her criticism of Gaga shows how desperate she really is.(sic)’.

It seems that Furnish was a tad upset that his hubby had lost out to ‘Masterpiece’ from the movie Madge directed, while Elton’s film, Gnomeo and Juliet, seemed to go unnoticed.
