For Spring/Summer 2013 designers were keen to inject our wardrobes with an array of lustrous foils, metallic fabrics, holographic touches and iridescent sheens.
Burberry Prorsum of course had this down to a fine art clashing printed high gloss skirts with space-age shirts amongst other pieces, while other fashion houses such as Vivienne Westwood, Emporio Armani and Versace opted for a mixture of simplistic or outrageous designs which all worked well from head to toe.
Across the water House of Holland and Jonathan Saunders both showed statement jackets in high sheen materials whilst designers like Lanvin and Rodarte added accents of silver, grey and rainbow hues to their accessory arsenals.
If you want to add some high shine into your daily wardrobe then why not take inspiration from the likes of Salvatore Ferragamo and team an opulent gold skirt with a casual knit, finished with simple accessories. If however you feel that may still be too much why not try a simple metallic nail varnish or statement necklace.
Whichever way you wear it for summer make sure to stand out from the crowd by wrapping precious metals with sparkling glitter-esque finishes and gleaming gauzy fabrics. Here’s a pick of my fav pieces (above) currently available to purchase now…
