Forget 1990s low-slung jogging bottoms and the crystal-embellished terry towelling styles that followed suit in the noughties (adorned by the likes of Britney Spears) because for spring/summer 2015 designers have turned to more sleeker, tapered designs.
If you’re looking to emulate this sport luxe look (as seen at Topshop Unique, Lulu & Co, Akris and Preen) for less, but are not sure how, then why not start by opting for these stylish versions from some of our fav high street stores.
Available right now, this range of geo-to-grid print adaptions come in an array of colours and versions to suit all shapes and sizes. Wear dressed up with strappy heels and a skimpy vest (add lashings of jewellery for a real boho vibe) or dressed down during the current transitional weather with some plain pastel plimsols, a knitted sweat and a leather biker jacket.

Joining in and thinking outside the box I’ll be keeping my post New Year’s diet right on track by rocking this fab “Fryday” T-shirt from Adolescent Clothing instead of traditional fish ‘n’ chips for dinner on Good Friday; teaming the look with a pair of Current/Elliot skinny ripped jeans and colourful kicks from Nike. However, if the weather does adhere to spring-like temperatures with the sun shining through I can always add a metallic mini skirt (courtesy of Marc Jacobs) and a pair of strappy flats by Chloe for a glam spin on summer.
But you have to be quick as Adolescent’s super-cool logo tees and jumpers are flying out fast due to their limited availability and won’t be around for much longer.

Pixie Lott has been stirring up a storm on the dance floor this year with partner Trent Whiddon as part of Strictly Come Dancing, but it’s the fabulous charity inspired fashion and single that has shifted all the attention as the singer teams up with Matalan to promote a string of Alphabet scarves for AW14.
Pictured above in her classic grey monogrammed accessory, the All About Tonight starlet was snapped wearing one of Matalan’s new charity scarves to help raise money and awareness for Alder Hey Children’s Charity. However, Pixie’s not the only famous personality who has been seen rocking their very own personalised accessory. Global stars such as Britney Spears, Kylie Minogue, Wayne Rooney, Jessie J, Sarah Jessica Parker, Abbey Clancy, Nicola Roberts and Tinie Tempah have all been spotted modelling their very own personalised Alphabet scarves in aid of the children’s hospital alongside a string of well known patrons, ambassadors and patients.
The scarves – which can be purchased in seven different colour ways ranging from A-Z – are now available to purchase both in store and online for just £10 (£5 for children’s versions) and showcase a collegiate style appliqué letter on each one; perfect for gifting loved ones this Christmas. All profits are set to go towards a brand new state–of–the–art children’s hospital, education and research centre ‘Alder Hey in the Park’ which is planned to open in 2015.
To coincide with the launch Pixie has also recorded her own version of the iconic 1986 number one, ‘Caravan of Love’, which has been released as her Christmas single and features on her new album ‘Platinum Pixie’ – with a percentage of proceeds from each single going straight to Alder Hey Children’s Charity. Speaking about the venture Pixie commented that “I am really honoured to be involved with, and supporting, Alder Hey’s Alphabet Scarves campaign. It’s a fantastic initiative and will raise much needed funds for the children’s hospital.”
So, what better way to give this Xmas than by following suit, looking stylish and supporting a good cause.

I have been meaning to update my blog (as you can see below) for quite some time now and will have a range of updates coming in the next few weeks on everything from jewellery to accessories and even a touch of Spring/Summer 2015 (for those who can’t wait!). However just in case you were wondering what I have been doing for the past few months here’s a quick summery below which includes celebrity styling, freelancing with the amazing team at LOOK magazine and much, much more…
OH and most importantly should I not forget waiting to become a mummy-to-be! (Due in Jan… Baby brain… Check out the maternity blog below for Seraphine.com)
Valentine’s Day is literally upon us so with that in mind I’ve compiled a very short, but sweet, guide to the best pieces that have been spotted both online and in store; pass over to your beau and let him/her do the rest…
Classic gifts such as chocolates, flowers and jewellery will always be a winner, make sure to have the prosecco is on ice and you can’t go wrong. Stores such as Interflora, M&S, Selfridges and all major supermarkets stock award winning bouquets, champagne’s, truffles and more, so no need to venture far if you have run out of time.
Perfume is always another certified hit and now Cartier have created their own luxurious scent aptly named La Panthère. However this sensuous number doesn’t launch in stores until April 7, (£49 for 30ml) but with a mix of floral and ephemeral notes is the perfect winner for spring and the perfect gift to pre-order for someone special. However if your beau is more of “the moment” then head direct to Penhaligon’s for one of their more heritage scents, or try their new Lily of the Valley perfume which is the official scent of London Fashion Week, boasting sweet, fresh and graceful floral tones.
Valentine’s lingerie is also a great idea if done tastefully. M&Co have a gorgeous range of underwear all for under £15 a set and are sold in a range of colours from strawberry to nude.
If your loved one favours trinkets more than aphrodisiacs then why not opt for Mulberry’s Rose Gold Metal Keyring, £70, www.mulberry.com; or Aspinal of London’s very quirky Heart Trinket Box, £95 (perfect if you are preparing to propose!).
Engagement rings are of course another mind field in themselves so you can always play safe opting for an on-trend alternative option such as Kat&Bee’s Daksha’s Rose 18ct gold ring (below left), £180, or if you want something more traditional then why not head to Arctic Circle for a range of chic styles; www.thbaker.co.uk – prices start at £1,595.
If you are planning to spend the evening in town with the gals you may want to treat yourself to a new shade of nail varnish for your manicured nails. Topshop’s Nails in Precocious (blush), £5, is a great way of getting noticed by that someone special without having to shout from the rooftops.
Lastly if you want to think outside the box and try a new experience then why not book in for a luxury spa package for two with Elemis? Their Day Spa offers everything from an exotic steam rasul therapy to a couple ritual or even detox for two; prices start from £85. For more info visit www.elemis.com.
Renowned British/Canadian filmmaker Trevor Undi, who has worked with the likes of Alexander McQueen and Balenciaga to name a few, has compiled an enchanting video to showcase designer Erdem Moralioğlu’s gorgeous new collection for spring/summer 2014.
The short film highlights several key trends for SS14 with white, sheer, monochrome and a hint of florals taking centre stage amid fabulous perspex 90s sandals and vintage 1930s-inspired sunglasses, creating a glimpse of the behind-the-scenes action of what takes place at a fashion show including the runway finale, all in an ethereal light.
Designer Erdem decided to “extract colour” (with a few exceptions) from the whole collection hence retaining the monochromatic feel, however even if the designer had taken inspiration from the 1930s cross-dressing boy, it was clear that he had spun his magic, and genius, on this collection creating a tailored look that most definitely gave feminine appeal.
The mix of biker and bomber jackets with stitched detailing, sheer outfits with embroidery and marabou style feathers on dresses appeals even more to the girl in me.
I hope this gives you inspiration for your forthcoming spring wardrobe!
