Transitional Trousers: The New Season Jogger

Forget 1990s low-slung jogging bottoms and the crystal-embellished terry towelling styles that followed suit in the noughties (adorned by the likes of Britney Spears) because for spring/summer 2015 designers have turned to more sleeker, tapered designs.

Topshop Grid Print Joggers £35New Look Blue Geo Print Joggers £9.99

If you’re looking to emulate this sport luxe look (as seen at Topshop Unique, Lulu & Co, Akris and Preen) for less, but are not sure how, then why not start by opting for these stylish versions from some of our fav high street stores.

Available right now, this range of geo-to-grid print adaptions come in an array of colours and versions to suit all shapes and sizes. Wear dressed up with strappy heels and a skimpy vest (add lashings of jewellery for a real boho vibe) or dressed down during the current transitional weather with some plain pastel plimsols, a knitted sweat and a leather biker jacket.

The Black Friday Discount Codes You Need To Know!

Adopted from our American cousins, Black Friday is the Friday following Thanksgiving Day when shopping prices are slashed (similar to those on Boxing Day) across both online and high street retailers.

Motel Rocks Black Friday Sale

If you’re thinking of getting a head start for Christmas or need any new homeware attire then my advice is to jump aboard and hit the shops early tomorrow! However most retailers have clocked onto the dates and have started their own sales early, even prolonging discounts until Tuesday (hurrah!). Most savvy shoppers though will know the best option to beat the car park and store queues is to shop online; although just be prepared for some of your favourite websites to potentially crash if consumer sales hit an all time high!

Here is my latest list of Black Friday discount codes for all your favourite online stores…. Happy Shopping!

#ChristmasJumperDay Style: How To Wear Yours…

It may be Friday the 13th, but all across the country people are helping to celebrate Christmas Jumper Day as part of an initiative to help raise money for Save The Children charity.

Aside from the fun element you can also make your outfit super stylish if heading out tonight after work or to the office party by mixing with plenty of bling or working in a casual element for the rest of the weekend.

I’d team this simple number (which I’m sporting today, below left) from Dorothy Perkins with skinny jeans and heeled ankle boots for a low-key evening. However if you’re heading out for dinner with your beau or the gals why not opt for a more chunkier knit or sweater (such as Internacionale Christmas Charcoal Pug Jumper, £17.99) adding in a sequined skirt (like Missguided’s Achima Sequin Midi Skirt, £29.99) and sky-high pointy courts or sandals for that ultimate Parisian chic feel.

Oversized jumpers such as this Littlewoods.coom one below, first left, are perfect with leggings for cosy nights in or winter strolls, just add a pair of wellington or fur-lined boots and a statement parka like Oasis’ Ellie Faux Fur Lined Parka, £88. Pastel colours are also massively on-trend for AW13; pick from a growing selection of sorbet hues from New Look, below right.

Brands such as MissGuided, M&Co, Topshop, Asos.com, Bank Fashion et al also have a fabulous array of Christmas Jumpers still in stock so if you haven’t caught on to the trend just yet, remember there is plenty of time with just under two weeks until Christmas Day, so why not purchase one now to achieve maximum usage or buy as a novelty gift option for a family member to wear on Christmas Day.

Weekend Wear: Boyfriend Jeans

The staple pair of jeans always comes to the rescue whether it be for a dress down day at work, casual day out or evening dinner with friends; so this weekend instead of donning your favourite skinnies why not opt for the original dress down style with a pair of Boyfriend Jeans.

You may have guessed that the name is of course derived from partners stealing their ‘Boyfriend’s jeans’ which are usually looser fitted and more comfortable. The oversized slack jeans were usually teamed with a casual tee for a real 90s vibe. However, what you may not have noticed as that they’ve made a revival in recent months with celebs and fashion editors alike adorning their favourite pairs to work, dinner dates and casual weekends away: plus they’re also great due to the fact they don’t make your bum look big or skim your thighs too much.

For a work day vibe add strappy sandals and turn up the jeans; mix with a statement necklace and slouchy tee for a new season take. For the weekend add a lumberjack style shirt and pointed courts for casual dinner dates or rock with Converse for a chilled day out with the family. It’s really that simple…

Friday Fashion Fix: ChloBo bracelets

ChloBo Magic Eye bracelets

So, I have decided that instead of a #FF on Twitter (that’s Follow Friday for those who don’t want to embrace the Twitter world) that I would create my very own #FFF (Friday Fashion Fix) instead with the latest pieces of fashion armoury that I plan to purchase each weekend. First up these gorgeously cute Magic Eye bracelets from ChloBo.

Priced at just £35 each (same price as a decent Topshop top) these neon and pastel cuties will practically go with every summer staple in your wardrobe and compliment all beach wear for your forthcoming holidays. Head to www.chlobo.co.uk now to choose from an assortment of designs, shapes and styles…

Olivier Awards 2012: Kara Tointon – get the look

Firstly huge apologies I have not blogged in so long. I have had a manic past two weeks prepping, styling and sorting returns for celebrity clients whom include the gorgeous Kara Tointon and fabulous Olympic Ambassador Dame Kelly Holmes. Alongside this I’ve been working a lot with www.whatbesttowear.com whom I write all their social season fashion and beauty tips for.

Kara Tointon at the 2012 Olivier Awards

You may have noticed in the papers and online yesterday that Kara was in fact was regarded very highly on most of the best dressed lists which – for a stylist – can be no bigger accolade. Therefore when trying to achieve the same style why not splurge the cash (if you have it) on a duplicate Minka dress by Alice+Olivia at Oxygen Boutique (38 Eastcastle Street, w1). Team with nude Christian Louboutin heels and a black clutch bag (also from Louboutin) and finish with black diamonds courtesy of Garrard jewellers.

However, if you are more save than splurge head straight to the high street or online where stores such as Lovely’s Vintage will be stacked with 1920s flapper style gowns: Www.goddiva.co.uk also offer great inspiration. When trying to source nude peep toe heels look no further than stores such as Dune, Aldo, Dorothy Perkins, River Island et al; they all have similar options which can also be used for smart work wear situations. To emulate the black diamond effect head straight to Topshop where their in-house brands alongside concessions such as Mikey will take all the hard work out of looking for you…..

New spring/summer 2012 trend: coloured jeans

Now that spring is officially here (clocks go forward an hour on Sunday – 25th March) and the sun is shinning we are all looking to update our winter wardrobes quick-smart and head to our favourite stores for some inspiration.

Coloured jeans from http://www.vestryonline.com

However, even though the sun is out we still feel a nip in the air come dinner time so with this in mind the perfect piece to adorn any spring weekend would be the coloured jean. Turn them up and wear with deck shoes, t-shirts / vests for a laid back look a la Fearne Cotton or try ultra skinny pairs complete with high heels and a sheer / shimmering top to head out in the evening as per Kim Kardashian.

There are a super collection of rainbow colours in almost every store on the high street with Uniqlo, River Island, Dorothy Perkins, Warehouse, New Look and Topshop all adorning bright and vibrant hues alongside soft sorbet shades.

George at ASDA also have a fab collection in store from just £14 per pair, which means if they are just on your radar for the summer season then can’t go wrong. Miss Selfridge also offer more tapered versions which flatter pear shapes whilst Wallis provide an assortment of styles for curvy hourglass figures. Online head to www.Asos.com for their bright coloured and printed jean collection and www.vestryonline.com who offer soft denim jegging options from Vera Moda.

My favourite are my Dorothy Perkins electric blue jeans which elongate my petite frame; however, if you are lucky enough to be svelte and tall then try the sorbet apricot, lilac and pale yellow selections.
